Outreach Events:

TUNA members participated in two "awareness walks" in Fall, 2016, the NAMI (National Alliance for Mental Illness) walk on Saturday, October 15, and the Alzheimer's Walk on Saturday, Novemember 5, 2016. Both were held in Aububon Park.

TUNA continued their outreach efforts by contributing to the Girls in STEM at Tulane (GIST) events on November 12, 2016 and March 11, 2017 and the new outreach project for middle school boys, Boys at Tulane in STEM (BATS) on October 22, 2016 and February 4, 2017.

Alzheimer's Walk 2016

 

Girls in STEM at Tulane (GIST) was held on Saturday, February 28, 2015. TUNA members hosted a Brain table at registration and helped with the Brain Workshop for middle school girls in the New Orleans area.

Louisiana STEM Expo: Middle school science exposition in Baton Rouge where students presented science projects, and TUNA members shared their enthusiasm about neuroscience with the students.

Brain Awareness Week was held the week of March 16-21, 2015.TUNA members held various events on campus (Brain Panel, Movie Night, Trivia Night, and lab tours) and volunteered at "Your Sensational Brain" at the Children's Library on Napoleon Avenue on Saturday, March 21, 2015. Brain Awareness Week was held the week of April 7-11, 2014. Several events were planned for students to learn about the brain and nervous system! Students learned about concussions and other sports-related brain injuries, careers in medicine and research, and career preparation. They also enjoyed socializing with members of the Tulane Neuroscience community. Click here for a list of all the events.

Join TUNA and the Alzheimer's Association in the 2011 Greater New Orleans Walk to End Alzheimer's! The 2 mile walk will be held in Audubon Park on Saturday, October 29, 2011. Registration begins at 8:00 AM, and the walk starts at 9:30 AM. Show your support for the millions of Americans living with and affected by Alzheimer's disease.
